Situated in the central square this is the symbol of Timisoara. Around 100 years old, with front stairs just reconstructed. located on the opposite site of the central square from Opera, the cathedral is visited by hundred people daily.

This old Austrian fortress was completely renovated and turned into a cozy meeting place for locals, with bars, restaurants, art galleries and shops.

This is one of the most interesting museums in Romania. It is situated in the Huniade Square 1, Timisoara. It has several sections: history, national history, art, entography and the village history section. This is also the oldest building in Timisoara. It is easy to find it, and surrounding is interesting to see. Near Museum is Victory Square where you can see representative National Opera House. In front of the museum watch carefully lampposts. YOu will see small lightballs. Also on the side of the main path you will see few lanterns. Timisoara was the first city in Europe illuminated by electric ligt and those lightballs and lanterns are kind of monument.

A beautiful museum, recently renovated and re-opened. You can find it in Unirii Square and pay on entrance fee of only 1 euro. Not too many pieces are exposed, but they often host different exhibitions that they borrow from other museums or galleries.

Interesting to see different types of houses from the area over different time periods. Did a great job with the actual houses, the paths, etc. Worth spending afternoon there. Once you are done visiting casa satului, take a break with a nice cold beer, with some mititei, at the pub that is located there and owned by the Timisoreana beer company. The only drawback is that if you want to take pictures, you have to pay for that right in addition to your entrance ticket.
