Why Go: Absa Towers North is situated in downtown Jozi as the locals call it, and there are many incomparable works of art in the offices and reception areas. There is a smaller art gallery which houses spectacular original art of artists who have entered Absa's prestigious, annual fine art competition. Some of the artworks that made a huge impression on me was the six storey tall colourful tuft carpet banners woven by rural men and an 11 metre highwire sculpture of carved African stools that weighs half a ton. Look out for the huge model of the old city of Johannesburg and the modern city displayed on two floors of space. It moves slowly making a cycle every 20 minutes.
