Why Go: The Mano de Punta del Este is the a landmark sculpture of Uruguay, stretching out of the golden sands of Punta del Este´s popular resort promenade. It was created by Chilean artist and sculptor, Mario Irarrázabal. It depicts five human fingers partially emerging from sand. It is also known as either Hombre Emergiendo a la Vida (Man Emerging into Life).
