Why Go: On one of the hills in Plovdiv /known as tepe/tepeta /, you can see the monument of the Soviet Army, known as Alyosha - a man with the height of 10.5 metres. The hill itself has altitude of 234 metres and on it there is a second monument in honour of those who lost their lives during the Russo-Turkish Liberation war. The hill uncovers a great landscape including most of Plovdiv and a great part of South Bulgaria.
