Why Go: The Saint Nedelya monastery near Asenovgrad (and near the village of Zlatovrah) was once really important for the Bulgarian. It is the only monastery build under Ottoman Slavery without it having existed before. Soon after it was founded, it accommodated a school for the poor kids from the area. Today it is still working and registered as a cultural monument.
