Why Go: MANGOS has been a dream for store owners: Jaime and Susy Perez; since moving from Guadalajara, Mexico into the United States in 1985, they had a vision that some day they would have their own fruit and ice cream shop. They thought of a place where people could cool down from those hot summer afternoons in San Antonio with a traditional raspa, a delicious mangonada or just a plain ice cream bar. A place where people could have a healthy option for their every day lunch menu with a refreshing fruit cup or a savoring corn in a cup, or where families together could enjoy one of those all American favorites like nachos, hot dogs and milk shakes. Today, this dream has come true and we believe in giving you the best. Because of this, we pride ourselves on having fresh, local ingredients every day. We like to think of our food as every day comfort food. You know, the kind your mom would have made (if she were to spoil you every day).
