Why Go: One of the most striking things about Taos, New Mexico is the American Indian pueblo which has been there for at least 1000 years. Commonly called the oldest continuously settled community in North America, the American Indians of this pueblo never gave up their land but fought for and retained it. The Pueblo allows visitations and tours where they show you around the ancient and still inhabited buildings, tell you about their culture and give you a glimpse into authentic American Indian life.
