Why Go: Kit Carson Park is the central park right smack in the middle of downtown Taos. It's a great place to take children, as it offers some of the best playgrounds in town. While the kids play, you can enjoy a trail that circles the park and goes through a historic graveyard, where Kit Carson himself, a famous military figure, is buried.
