Why Go: What once was a 1,200 piece collection of contemporary art stored in a 25,000-square-foot former parachute-harness factory in Long Island City, was transformed into the Fisher Landau Center for Art in 2003. The space houses works by major artists like Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha, and Jasper Johns to name a few; and what makes it even more appealing is the long lines you will skip, and hefty fee you will pay to be admitted into it's Manhattan counterpart - MoMA.
