Why Go: Kingsland Homestead, located in two-acre Weeping Beech Park, is one of the few remaining homes from the 18th century still in existence here in Queens. It was declared a landmark by New York City in 1965. It was the first structure, in Queens, to ever receive that honor. Since being taken over by the Queens Historical Society, which is headquartered there as well, the home is now used for exhibitions, serves as a meeting place, library and archive.
