Why Go: Royal Gaitor Tumba is the cremation site of the Maharajas of Rajasthan. This site is located 15 km from Jaipur at the foothills of Nahargarh Fort. The cenotaphs or the chattris are a perfect combnation of Islamic and Hindu temple architecture. The decor and extravagance of a particular Chattri reflects the stature and prowess of a particular king. The most graceful and beautiful Chattri at Gaitor is that of Maharaja Jai Singh with 20 carved pillars. You would be spell bound to see the intricately carved domes and the aura of the whole place.
