Why Go: Hawa Mahal meaning ‘Palace of the Breeze’ is the biggest tourist attraction of Jaipur. It is so named as it served a high screen wall for the women of royal household who could observe the street festivities while being unseen from the outside. Constructed in red and pink sandstone, the shape of the palace is believed to be like the crown of Krishna, the Hindu God. With its 953 small windows called jharokhas decorated with intricate latticework, the exterior of this five storey stunning palace is akin to the honeycomb of a beehive.
